DESCRIPTION:

Nalco's Dryer Can Release program is applied continuously in the dryer section of a paper machine system through a custom designed showering system. The program prevents contamination from stickies and other hydrophobic soils by placing a detackifying barrier between the sheet and the treated dryer can/fabric surface. The resulting barrier prevents stickies and pitch from picking out onto dryer fabric and cans. Board manufacturers benefiting most from this program include those running greater than 70% recycled furnish or 30% coated broke, those shutting down more than once per month to clean dryer cans/fabrics, and those running machines with cleaning systems stressed beyond capacity.
